Karl and Mildred Nugester Wolfe established their studio in 1946 at the present location, which was then in the country north of Jackson. They worked in a number of mediums, making art reflective of their lives and environment. Their creations now grace many collections, private and public, in Mississippi and beyond. After Karl's death in 1984, Mildred was joined by her daughter Elizabeth (Bebe) Wolfe. They continued the studio practice; producing paintings, small sculptures, mosaics, prints and ceramics – all bearing the distinction that marks the work of mature and thoughtful artists. Mildred retired from the daily studio activities in 2001, just short of her ninetieth birthday. Today, Bebe continues the Wolfe tradition with the help of several artists, including Linda Bartling and Wendy Eddleman, who offer their talents, support and friendship. The studio at 4308 Old Canton Road is open from 10 a.m. To 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 2 p.m. On Saturday.
