Nancy Perkins, Executive Director, Project Director
Nancy joined the Guild as executive director in July 2012 and is responsible for managing all day to day operations. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, grant writing, fundraising, business management and program development. Nancy has over 30 years of experience in marketing, communications and fundraising, as well as a successful track record in leading projects and organizations. She served as executive director of Harbor Square Development Corporation; marketing services director for the Sun Herald, marketing director for Senior Citizen Services of Metropolitan Atlanta; administrator of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for the SE Region; and, marketing director and executive producer of fundraising for Mississippi Public Broadcasting. She was one of the principal writers of Proud to Call Mississippi Home and co-founded Creative Partners Public Relations specializing in promoting authors and speakers.
A Gulfport native, Nancy received her bachelors of public administration degree from the University of Mississippi where she was a graduate fellow in radio, television and film.
Tomeka Hall Cheatham, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Membership
Tomeka began working for the Craftsmen’s Guild, March 1996, originally as an administrative assistant. She has advanced to the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Membership – position consisting of office management, maintenance of financial accounts, payroll, and management of a database of 14,000+ records, bookkeeping, payroll, assisting with festivals, daily operations, and handling of all day-to-day accounting. She trains staff on the Inventory Point of Sale Enhanced System, among other duties.
Tomeka received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Masters’ of Science and Management in Business from Belhaven University.
Sheri Cox, Director of Operations
Sheri Cox is responsible for organizing all the events held at the MS Craft Center. From weddings and wedding receptions to family reunions, corporate retreats and group visits, she handles all scheduling details at the Craft Center. As education coordinator, Sheri plans all school field trips and coordinates all classes at the Craft Center. She also provides descriptions and pricing for classes, and works with instructors to plan curriculum.
Prior to coming to the MS Craft Center, she was on staff at St. James’ Episcopal Church where she was the Coordinator of New Member Ministry and was the Wedding Coordinator. For 19 years, she was with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. and coordinated all training for new staff members. She conducted many training sessions, not only in the Jackson office, but at the Home Office of Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, WI. She presented many seminars and training sessions at Northwestern Mutual’s Annual Meeting and Southern Regional Meetings.
Olivia Hall, Office Manager
Patricia Wynn, Gallery Associate
Patricia Wynn was raised in Mississippi and currently lives in Brandon. She is married to Lyle Wynn, who is one of the guild's fine craftsmen (blacksmith), and Vice President of the guild's board. Patricia has grown to to love the Craft Center due to her constant involvement in its activities including: events, field trips, and classes.
In 2015, she joined her husband in the guild, and together, they formed Wynn Studios, combining copper and steel into her jewelry. She also joined the gallery staff in April of the same year after many years of involvement with the guild and the Craft Center.
Martha Scarborough, Gallery Associate
Martha has been a craftsman for over 30 years, and a Guild craftsman since 2009. During her career as a CPA, Martha worked for 3 years as a staff accountant with a CPA firm, for 2 years as an internal auditor for a student loan organization, for 18 years as the treasurer/financial director of the Mississippi United Methodist Conference, 6 years associate director of The Mississippi United Methodist Foundation, and 8 years as executive director of The Mississippi United Methodist Foundation. She began working in the Ridgeland gallery in 2015 and loves sharing her work and the work of her fellow craftsmen with the visitors that come to the Center from all over the world.
Drew Brunson, Operations Associate
Drew Brunson joined the Guild in May 2016. He is responsible for assisting in the gallery, working with the Creative Crafts Camps, photographing artwork and editing our online store as well as aiding with general maintenance.
He is a recent graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, receiving a Bachelor's of Music Education with an instrumental focus in saxophone. As a student employee, he worked in the School of Music Recording Studio as an engineer, production assistant, and stagehand. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing and playing various instruments as well as recording music.
